Lydia’s Closet was started on August 11, 2010 as another outreach in conjunction with the Soup Lunch Bunch. We ask for donations of good, clean clothing from the congregation, which we then sell at nominal cost (usually 25¢ per item) during the Soup Lunch on the third Wednesday of each month. Proceeds go back to the Soup Lunch Bunch and, as of April 2012, $700 has been given back.
The name of this outreach was chosen for the woman Lydia, the seller of purple cloth noted in Acts 16:14, who opened her heart to God.

Thank You, Thank You, from Lydia’s Closet! We had a lot of donations and are now with a good selection. We can still use warm outerwear for all ages. Thanks again for your wonderful support for this project!
Our Soup Lunch guests appreciate the opportunity to shop, and all funds are returned to the soup lunch to help with costs. Thank you for your help.
